Portable Water Filtration Plant: ‘Water With A Heart’, as they call it, the property produces its own premium quality still and sparkling drinking water for guests and members of the team. Infused with nourishing minerals, the water is packaged in sanitized glass bottles that are stocked in the rooms, and also retail at the resort’s dining destinations. Proceeds from all water sales goes to the ‘The Big Heart Foundation’, which supports underprivileged children and refugee camps by supplying water to them and providing for their education.
Zero Waste Policy: All organic and non-organic food waste is transformed into high quality compost that is used to maintain the property’s serene landscaping, and having partnered with Sharjah-based waste management contractor, M/S BEE’AH, Al Bait Sharjah recycles all its glass, cardboard and kitchen oil as well as any plastic remains left by guests.
Reduced Water & Energy Consumption: In addition to producing its own water, the resort also contributes to the environment by reducing its overall carbon footprint – motion sensors for lighting to avoid unnecessary use of energy, as well as optimising air conditioning depending on occupancy. The front desk air conditioning is programmed with a timer to only switch on during the dedicated hours of operation and kitchen exhaust fans across all dining venues are built to detect the heat of the air and adjust their speed according to the equipment in use.
The Al Bait Sharjah family also requests guests to play their part in supporting the environment by avoiding reducing water consumption for housekeeping facilities. Each room and suite features a beautifully sculpted glass water droplet and upon checking in, guests are briefed to place the droplet on the bed as a cue for housekeeping to make the bed, without changing the sheets.
