From destination steaks in the desert to leisurely breakfasts surrounded by heritage, Sharjah Collection is putting a sense of place back on the menu
In the UAE’s dynamic and increasingly sophisticated dining scene, the most memorable experiences are defined by more than exceptional food. Setting, story and a genuine sense of place have become integral to the way we dine. Across Sharjah Collection, distinctive menus are brought to life against some of the Emirate’s most remarkable and iconic landscapes and heritage settings, transforming a meal into an experience worth travelling for.
From premium steaks at Mavia Restaurant at Al Faya Retreat to sumptuous breakfasts at Wishi, the collection offers a compelling reason to venture beyond familiar dining addresses and discover restaurants where the journey, surroundings and cuisine are all part of the experience.
For Steaks Worth the Journey: Mavia Restaurant
Set amid the dramatic landscape of Al Faya Retreat, Mavia is a destination for those who take their steak seriously.
The menu places premium meat at its heart, with substantial cuts including a 400g Black Angus Rib Eye, 400g Wagyu Striploin and 600g T-Bone, alongside Wagyu skewers, lamb chops and a Wagyu burger.
Yet Mavia’s appeal extends beyond the grill. The journey into the desert is part of the occasion, gradually leaving the urban landscape behind before arriving at an intimate retreat surrounded by open horizons. It is precisely this combination of food and place that makes Mavia less about simply booking a table and more about planning an evening around the experience.
The drinks menu follows the same contemporary approach, with creations such as The Red Dagger, made with smoked cinnamon hibiscus iced tea, raspberry purée and lemon, alongside Ginger Fizz, Mavia Iced Tea, fresh juices, speciality coffees and matcha-based drinks.
For Breakfast Without the Rush: Wishi
At the other end of the day, Wishi makes a case for bringing back the long breakfast.
Here, familiar morning favourites sit alongside flavours rooted in the region. Chebab is served with saffron and date syrup; the Al Maqsar Benedict combines eggs with feta, Akkawi and Gouda cheeses, labneh hollandaise and sourdough; while the generous Breakfast Tray brings together foul medames, labneh, manakish, fresh fruit, baid tamat, grilled halloumi, jams and honey.
For more contemporary tastes, there is avocado toast, French toast, Lotus granola and Benedict, alongside Baked Shakshuka, a three-cheese omelette and Simit.
It is the kind of breakfast that encourages diners to linger: another coffee, another conversation, and perhaps nowhere in particular to rush to next.
For a Taste of the East Coast
Dining within Sharjah Collection also reflects the geography and identity of its destinations.
The menu moves confidently between local inspiration and contemporary comfort, with dishes such as Al Maqsar Biryani Clay Pot, local hammour served with saffron rice and roasted vegetables, East Coast Prawns, Al Maqsar Grill and Rack of Lamb.
Even dessert carries a regional accent. Gahwa appears in a tiramisu, dates are paired with tahini ice cream, while Luqaimat French Toast brings together brioche, caramel, pistachio and cardamom ice cream.
